A year since I started running and I’m still going.  I was remarking to my wife last night that I can’t remember the last time I’d done anything consistently for a year.  And yet here I am: last Saturday I ran 6 miles straight through without stopping.  It amazes me that I can do something that seemed so out of reach just a year ago.

What’s even more interesting is I’m going to try to run a half-marathon on April 12.  It’s the Bridge the Gap to Health half-marathon.  Now I’ve got a long way to go to get from 6 miles last week to 13.1 miles but I plan to add a mile a week and see how it goes.  I run at such a nice, slow pace that I have every expectation of coming in last place.
